Help Out of School Children in India
32 million Indian children of age up to 13 years have never attended any school, the majority of them belonging to the socially disadvantaged class or poor families. In addition, 47 million children of secondary and higher secondary school-going age dropped out of school. Most government schools have a poor quality infrastructure, and lack teachers. Children mired in poverty are forced to drop out of school and find ways to survive.
Shockingly, there are more than 33 million child laborers below the age of 18 years in India, whereas they should be in school.

Meet K. Roopa – A Bright Student in Need of Education Sponsorship
K. Roopa is currently studying in 9th class at Good Shepherd School, Kurnool. She comes from a financially vulnerable family living in a rented house, where both parents depend on daily wage work for survival.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the family’s income dropped sharply, with only her father earning a small daily income. At present, her mother is bed-ridden, further worsening the family’s financial condition.
Despite these challenges, Roopa is determined to continue her studies. With the right education sponsorship, she can stay in school and work towards a stable and independent future.

Aim of this project is to identify and support 500 underprivileged girl students from slum communities, who are studying in classes V to X in government schools.
Every year, we distribute the educational material kits to these girls. The education kit contains School bag, Long and Short Note Books, Dictionary, Shoes, Socks, Pencils, Erasers, Writing Pad, branded school uniforms, Sketch Pens, Geometry Box, Colour Pencils, etc.

Poor students need school materials like notebooks, uniforms, clothes, shoes, pens, pencils, private convent school fee, and tuition. These deprived girls are good at studies but struggling for education support, since their parents are working as daily wage laborers in construction sites, scavenging, tobacco units and gets meager income and are not able to provide for their education expenses.
A significant number of children come from backward communities. These communities face widespread discrimination.
