Description
Sumitra who is currently in 4th standard joined SERUDS family when she was 7 years old. Her father shiva shankar is an alcoholic and uses all of his hard earned money for drinking and physically abuses sumitra’s mother. Her mother Eshwaramma works as a daily wage labourer and has to meet the cost of educating the 3 daughters by herself.
As she was not able to afford cost of her daughters’ education, she joined Sumitra at SERUDS so that she could get education, food and the basic things. Sumitra’s sisters who are younger than her currently stay with her mother and do not even attend school.
When Sumitra joined SERUDS she was a silent kid who was not able to talk or mingle with other children. She only focuses on her studies as her mother told her to study well when she left her at joy home. She wants to focus on her studies as she promised her mother.
