Pretty sure you have had your meal or going to have or having it right now.Pretty sure you might even have complained about your food at least once, now just think about the people who are waiting to receive their only meal of the day or week or even month! Quiet shaking right?

Let’s have a quick look at such people in India and what we as an NGO are trying our best to help them with your little help.

According to FAO’s The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2020 report, 189.2 million people are undernourished in India. By this measure, 14% of the population is undernourished in India.

Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anemic. Further according to the report 34.7% of the children aged under five in India are stunted (too short for their age), while 20% suffer from wasting, meaning their weight is too low for their height. Malnourished children have a higher risk of death from common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria.

COVID-19 Effect On Homeless & Needy People

During this pandemic, even the wealthiest among the population have suffered too so for the financially unstable families, it was a massacre which led to deaths and suicides leaving them hopeless.

The World’s Biggest Democracy as mighty as it may sound is ironically home to the largest population of hunger. It ranks 102 among 117 countries under The Global Hunger Index and COVID-19 just made things worse.

A recent COVID-19 Livelihoods Survey conducted by the Azim Premji University revealed that hundreds of thousands of families in India have been forced to reduce their food consumption during the pandemic.

We will never know how many people died of starvation because no state government will admit to starvation deaths and even the middle-class family would not accept that they are starving!

It came to a point where everyone tried helping each other regardless of age, gender or religion as hunger has no religion to which SERUDS has also put in efforts to reach as many hunger driven populations be it children or adults through various schemes.

SERUDS Charity For Food Programs:

Donate Money For Food For elders:-

We run a program named Midday Meal where we serve some elderly women who have no one to look after, who are abandoned by their families. There are 30 of them and your Rs.2750 can serve them a hot meal once.

Donate Money for Food For children:-

At SERUDS, there are 80 children between the age of 1-6 who have very poor family backgrounds where both parents are working to make both ends meet, so we take care of them under the program “Day Care Centers” where we provide them with mid-day meals, snacks and pre-school education.

Your Role in Supporting Charity Programs for Food & Shelter:

We as humans are very ungrateful for the luxuries we have. In your budget of a luxurious restaurant trip, you can feed 30 women and many children a very nutritious meal and make some good deeds for yourself.

Hunger has no religion! You can come forward and lend us a hand in helping all these not so fortunate people with any sort of means you wish.
