Description
Sumathi parents have four girl children. Both were daily wage labourers in the agriculture fields. But her father whatever he earns he always spends on cheap liquor. Lakshmidevi also works and gets meagre income. He is having extra marital relations with other women in the village. He always beat the wife. Sometimes she is not able to bare with his attitude. It is not at all sufficient to feed all the members in the family at least a time in a day. She will starve along with her children every day. She is worrying so much about her children and their future. At that time with the help of community elders heard about Joy Home as part of its regular activities.
Impact
Previously Sumathi used to suffer a lot for food and some time ago, she suffered from malnutrition. It was very difficult for the family to have food even one time per day. But now she is getting sufficient food, educational material, dresses, medical support, recreation facilities to study well and to have a good future. She is so healthy and happy with other inmates in the joy home orphanage
