About us

SERUDS is a registered voluntary organization working for the empowerment of disadvantaged women, adolescents and children in particular and all the poor and needy in general in KURNOOL district of Andhra Pradesh, INDIA. We have registered under the Socieites Registration Act, XXXV of 2001, vide Registration No. 264/2003. We also registered under FCRA, 12A & 80G of Income Tax Exemption. We focus on empowerment of children, adolescents & women. Since its inception, we have been assisting adolescents, children and women, in their struggle against discrimination, exploitation, atrocities, harassment and economic backwardness.

SERUDS works for the elevation of under privileged Children, Women and Youth using holistic approach that addresses the physical, educational, environmental and economic welfare of the community. By working in this approach, SERUDS aims to facilitate the self-sufficiency of families and whole communities. Ultimately, SERUDS visualizes global transformation through local change.

Vision:
The vision of SERUDS is to mitigate the sufferings, turmoil, trails & tribulations of deprived and downtrodden sections of the society to ensure equity, empowerment and justice.

Mission:
To promote socio, economic, health, education and culture through participatory approach focusing children, adolescents and women, who are being deprived and oppressed in the society.

Objectives:
To empower women and promote SHGs/ CBOs
To empower youth and provide vocational/ skill development trainings for sustainable livelihoods.
To create awareness on panchayat raj institutions and build capacities of SC, ST Women elected representatives of local self government.
To undertake forest based activities and provide sustainable livelihoods to forest-dwellers and tribals.
To promote and propagate non conventional energy sources.
To rehabilitate child labour and sensitize children on their rights.
To sensitize public on health, sanitation, education, environment, consumer rights, road safety and other social issues.
To promote scientific temper and take up IT to grass roots.
To work for rural development and slum development.
To empower dalits and organize them to enjoy human rights and constitutional rights.
To prevent and control HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria.
To prevent malnutrition and promote nutritional diet among children, adolescents and women.
To work for sustainable agricultural development and promote organic farming.
To create unity, integrity and communal harmony.
To promote adult & informal education among rural masses and slum dwellers.
To empower and organize persons with disability
